Vertical white lines on a laser printer usually mean the toner is low or uneven. Remove the cartridge and shake it gently side-to-side to redistribute the powder. If you see repetitive black spots, the "Drum Unit" likely has a scratch or a piece of stuck toner.
Selecting "Matte" when using Glossy paper results in puddles of ink that won't dry. Selecting "Glossy" on Plain Paper results in a soggy, wrinkled mess. Always match your software setting to the physical paper.

Your computer screen uses Red, Green, and Blue light to create colors. When all three colors combine, they create white. This is "additive" because you are adding light to a black screen.
